Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion (HCCI), in collaboration with Hamilton Immigration Partnership Council (HIPC) and Wesley Urban Ministries, is happy to offer this Cultural Competency Workshop to individuals and groups that are involved in welcoming and settling Syrian refugees in Hamilton. This 2.5 hours workshop is focused on developing cross-cultural communications skills, respecting differences and recognizing unconscious bias.

Topics to be covered are: • Becoming aware of your own culture as a first step in learning about other people's culture. • Building relationships with people from many different cultures • Privilege, bias and being an ally • Cross-cultural communication and cultural solidarity
